What Is a DTF Gangsheet and How Does It Save You Money?

A DTF gangsheet is a single sheet of DTF (direct-to-film) transfer film printed with many designs nested together on it. Instead of paying for each design or transfer separately, you pay for the sheet — so one gangsheet can hold chest logos, sleeve prints, and back graphics for a whole team, event, or product line. It is the cheapest way to order DTF transfers, and it is why most small print shops and clothing brands order this way.

How a DTF gangsheet works

A gangsheet is printed on a roll of DTF film that is 12 inches wide. You choose how long the sheet needs to be, upload your artwork, and the designs are arranged (nested) on the sheet to use as much of the printable area as possible. We print your gangsheet, you cut each design apart with scissors, and press each one onto a garment with a heat press or even a home iron. Press at 300-320F (150-160C) for 10-15 seconds with firm, even pressure, then peel the film according to its peel type (hot, warm, or cold peel).

Why a gangsheet saves you money

  • You pay per sheet, not per design. The more designs you fit on one sheet, the lower the cost of each transfer. A 12" x 15" sheet can easily hold a dozen or more small chest logos, bringing the per-transfer cost well under a dollar.
  • No minimum order. You can order a single sheet instead of committing to bulk quantities. One sheet for a family reunion, a staff event, or a test run is perfectly fine.
  • Mix sizes and designs. Put a large back print, several front chest logos, and tiny sleeve graphics on the same sheet — each design doesn't have to match.
  • One shipping fee. A single sheet or roll ships for far less than dozens of individually packed transfers.
  • Less waste. Nesting fills the empty space that single-design transfers throw away, so you're not paying for blank film.

How to nest designs to get the most from your sheet

  1. Mix print sizes. Big back prints leave odd-shaped gaps — fill them with small chest, pocket, or sleeve logos.
  2. Leave a small gap between designs. About a quarter inch of space makes cutting them apart easy without clipping the artwork.
  3. Rotate artwork. Turning a design sideways can fill a gap that would otherwise go to waste.
  4. Upload clean files. High-resolution PNGs with transparent backgrounds print best and nest most cleanly.
  5. Let the printer nest for you. At Amritu Customs we nest your designs for maximum value before printing, so you don't have to do the layout yourself.

Gangsheet vs. ordering single transfers

If you need 30 identical chest logos, a gangsheet gives you all 30 on one or two sheets at a fraction of the per-transfer price of individual orders. Single transfers make sense when you need just one or two prints right now — but the moment you need a handful of designs, or the same design repeated, a gangsheet almost always wins on price. Shops love them because setup and shipping costs are paid once, and brands love them because there's no minimum order locking them into inventory they can't sell yet.

Frequently asked questions

How big can a DTF gangsheet be?
Our gangsheets are printed on 12-inch-wide film, with lengths from 12" x 15" ($15.90) all the way up to 12" x 189" ($102.90). Longer sheets cost more but give you far more designs per dollar.

Is there a minimum order?
No. Order a single sheet or hundreds — the pricing is the same either way.

How do I press a DTF transfer at home?
Press at 300-320F (150-160C) for 10-15 seconds with firm, even pressure. Peel the film hot, warm, or cold depending on the film type, then press once more for a few seconds to lock it in. Wait 24 hours before the first wash, then wash inside-out in cold water, hang dry or tumble dry low, and never use bleach.

Can I mix totally different designs on one sheet?
Yes — different logos, different colours, different sizes. Every design on the sheet presses independently, so mix freely.
